The Missing Pieces of your Practice: Mudras, Bandhas, Pranayama

The intent of Hatha Yoga – the name given to the physical branch of Yoga – is to awaken our inner energy and make it available for healing and spiritual progress. Asanas are one part of this ancient practice; equally important are mudras, which channel our inner energy and therefore strengthen its flow, bandhas, which bind the energy within the deep astral spine (sushumna) and help in releasing deep blocks, and pranayamas, which draw the energy into the astral spine. Each of these practices can be done separately; but they are far more powerful when combined with each other.

In this experiential class, Murali will guide you through the practice of key asanas, mudras, bandhas and pranayamas which will help you experience Hatha Yoga in a way that is closer to its original intent: to harmonize the body, mind and breath and thereby take us back to our natural state of health and well-being.
